Since India has
about 14 officially recognized languages and another huge number of
dialects, English is pretty much used for general communication but it has
definitely developed its own character.>>>>
India is an area where there are so many secondary English speakers,
that it has become an area of change and development of English on
its own.
The main area of diversification of the English language is, of course,
not Britain, but North America, with a large geographic area and
relatively large population of English speakers. There are dynamic
stresses on the language from a multiplicity of sources, primarily
Spanish that favor language evolution.
I suppose there were some English speakers who were sad when they
realized that the language was dumping the special forms of the second
person singular (thou/thee, etc.).
For me it's witnessing
the demise of special adverb forms and objective forms of pronouns :-(
