That was my first thought, too. But $5,000 vs $10,000+interest over five years, leaves me with no choice, really. I have some money in savings that can help, but that itself means Bye-bye savings. Oh well. That's what it's for, I guess.
And yes, if my five-hour journey did NOT involve the Sierra Nevada, I'd not be talking about this, I'm sure. I'd be getting my timing belt changed dutifully after our return, as planned.
And guess what, though. This time last year, I did not yet own a cell phone. THINK about that for a moment...!
