Snowbirds here. I love winter, but I hate the icy sidewalks, which can be
treacherous even to the youthful. I head for northeast Florida. Loads
of my friends head for Mexico, though, and a few to the Caribbean.
One of my friends, who's a Quaker, spends the winter in a Quaker
community in Costa Rica.
Our winter community is mostly Canadians, who are delightful
neighbors.
Another friend winters on Florida's west coast in a community of
musical people. They spend the winters singing & playing together,
either in rehearsal or in concerts. And they do one bang-up musical
a year as the culmination of the season.
