Chicago must have seriously improved its water quality, then, because I can
remember my dad saying back in the 50s, "There's no water in Chicago water!
It's a soup of chlorine and dead bacteria!" And it did taste pretty awful
back then.
Our well water here in the Shenandoah tastes pretty good. We run our
drinking water through the refrigerator's filter, but even the tap water
tastes good. I must say the washing water has improved greatly since the
new water softener was installed....previously we had hot and cold running
gravel.
