I just reserved a guest apartment at Mom's retirement joint for 12/27 - 12-29.  Not long, but that's all that's necessary.  We haven't been there since Memorial Day Weekend of 2013.  It took some effort to do, because I don't really want to go.  But I know it'll mean a lot to her, especially seeing her bearded grandson.  And if anything, my 4-yr-old pony tail will give her some excitement.  (It did two years ago, why not now?)
