They are at Methodist hospital in Indianapolis, which is part of the IU
Health system. If it were up to me, I would much rather have my family
member at the main IU hospital. Tracy told me that Elizabeth said she was
told "It's the best place for him right now," which sounds to me more like
"it's convenient", but maybe I'm being snarky. Tracy told her to ask for a
second opinion, and they sent another doctor from the same group, which to
me seems, while not exactly unethical, more than a little self-serving.
Tracy told her to ask for another opinion from a completely unrelated
group. I haven't heard anything further. This poor girl definitely needs a
patient advocate! Tracy has a lot of experience dealing with hospitals
because her dad was a brittle diabetic and was in and out of hospitals for
years, but she is in Terre Haute and has her own family to look after and
can't be in two places at once.
