Ah, yes, the memories:
The "El" many, many times from Oak Park to the Loop.
The North Shore from the Loop to to Racine and Kenosha and sometimes even
Milwaukee. It was great fun to sit in the dining/bar car and watch the
plain old commuters in their plain old "El".
And then there was the trolley line that went from the Chicago city line
through Oak Park and on out to the far-out suburbs and Brookfield Zoo. The
cars had pot bellied, coal burning stoves! Didn't last much past the late
40's.
