[Magdalen] Retirement

This evening I conducted and preached at Solemn Evensong to mark the 
125th anniversary of the dedication of our parish church and my 
retirement as Priest in Charge.  Apart from a guide to the USA the gifts 
I have received are all consumable.  From my friends at Bedford Rowing 
Club a bottle of Glenfiddich 12 year old malt.  From the Head Teacher of 
the neighbouring school a bottle of Glenrothes Special Reserve and from 
the parish a mixed case of wine.

I think I must have a reputation as somebody who likes a drink.

It was a grand service with some wonderful singing and some laughter at 
the intended places early in my sermon.  After cutting the cake and 
receiving my gifts I handed back my keys.
