There is absolutely no reason on earth a pitcher should not be able to hit.
There's apparently some myth that hitting will "ruin their arm" or
something like that, but according to a trainer friend of mine, it is
indeed a myth and any pitcher capable of laying down a bunt (which most
are) ought to be able to hit a decent single. The DH is a travesty.
