Today, in Oakland, CA, at a(n upscale) Vietnamese restaurant, I had a generous shot of a hard liquor consisting of liquor, various herbs and berries, and a dead cobra.  Had I not seen what it was, I would have just thought it a mildly flavored vodka.  As it is, I gagged it down, and later had the benefit of a taste of high-end rum to blunt the residual taste.

Dinner at a Chinese restaurant earlier was heavenly.  The stir-fried lamb and jalapeno was wildly incredible.
