[Magdalen] status of Magdalen list

A couple of months ago, AOL and Yahoo changed their email systems in a
way that was raising havoc with all of the world's mailing lists,
including Magdalen.
A revised version of the "Mailman" software, which Magdalen uses, became
available. But it turned out not to be possible to upgrade the existing
system. We at SoAJ (who host Magdalen) had to get a new server computer
and start from scratch.
There were some rough patches along the way, but as of this moment
(8:40am US Eastern time) I believe that everything is working the way it
is supposed to, that people who don't want Digest mode are not
accidentally on Digest mode, and the world is again a safe place.
This update results in AOL and Yahoo subscribers being treated as
second-class citizens. There is nothing we can do about that. Your posts
will still get through, but they won't come from you. They will come
from Magdalen "on behalf of" you. If this annoys you there are lots of
other ISPs out there.
We're sorry that Magdalen was disrupted for so long. This was not our
intent.
Brian and the crew at SoAJ.
