I'm not Dan, but way back in 1977, I spent a week as a guest of the
Erhardt family in the new town of Rödermark (near the old town of
Urbarach) in the Frankfurt suburbs, during a three-week German-class
trip. Didn't get to see much of Frankfurt, but did get to spend a day
at that year's Hessentag (Hessian state fair) and remember a 120-mph
ride on the Autobahn meant to show off the host father's Mercedes. He
was a prominent butcher (Metzger) in the area, and his English
amounted to: "I am a manager of meat."

Further adventures were had in Munich, Dachau, Berlin, Cologne, and
the Eifel region town of Schleiden.

I pray for safe travels home for you, Dan!
