Our Easter Vigil will begin about 7pm, and as of right now I'm still not sure whether I'll be singing the Exsultet or reading it.  Depends on what my voice is doing by then; it's a little unpredictable of late.

Last year I was interim at the church in Culpeper, having landed there on Palm Sunday. There was great confusion about whether there would be a vigil at all, but since there was going to be a baptism, they decided in favor of the vigil.  Everyone involved was notified.
Or so we thought.
When I arrived at the church, there were no players in place. The organist and altar guild had gotten the word, but no LEMs, readers, acolytes, etc.
It occurs to me that I probably wrote about this last year. 
We pulled it off with lots of folks willing to step up on short notice, but it wasn't an experience I want to repeat!
Tonight I'm not in charge...just doing the Exsultet and setting the table.
