I used to have cortisone injections (before I had my knee replaced)
and experienced some serious euphoria in the weeks afterwards.
This didn't exactly alarm me and, frankly, wasn't sure whether to
attribute it to the effects of the cortisone or the effects of being pain-
free for awhile.

Some folks are very sensitive to cortisone side-effects. I used to
figure that an average person would start experiencing psychiatric
symptoms after about 40mg prednisone or equivalent injectable
dosages per day for about 10 days. The little cortisone packets for
such as poison ivy are designed to be finished before there is a
possibility of such side-effects.

However, some patients are resistant to such side-effects, and some (maybe
you?) are super sensitive.
