[Magdalen] Appalachian Trail

I've hiked a good number of bits & pieces of the AT (& the Long Trail) over
the years, and I've never encountered obnoxious people. I do mostly day
hikes, but have used AT campsites a couple of times, leantos never. No
partying - in fact, we were the only ones there on one occasion. One
shouldn't expect a lot of solitude on the AT, especially at leantos - it's
just too popular. One typically sees someone every few hours on the trail (a
good thing, just in case ...), but more folks of course at popular places
like Mt. Washington, and where you stay the night.

Oh, and BTW, as a duplicate of a picture in the article, here's a picture of
me on the summit of Mt. Washington, after hiking up to the top:

Interesting, but sad article from one one of my daily visits;

http://apnews.myway.com//article/20150830/us--hikers_behaving_badly-67c12c398a.html

I was surprised that regular trail walkers have nicknames, like bikers or
bar patrons. Any comments on the trail?

Grace and peace,
jon
