Carson reminds me of the guy who was an expert in transistors and then
started investigating the racial factor in intelligence.  People who are
successful in one field feel entitled to put their expertise to work in
another field, but forget all the hard basic work they had to do in their
first field to get where they had to be to make their mark.

Sort of like the stars who figure if people listen to them, it follows they
must have something to say worth listening to. (Yeah. Talkin' to you, Tom
Cruise.)
