And here in the Diocese of Virginia it's known as the Virginia collar!
A couple of days after I was ordained a deacon I mentioned to the
Bishop that I could tell already that I didn't like the collar. because it
was so hot. He replied, "Well, Grace, you're in Virginia. You'll hardly
ever have to wear it!"
And I have, in fact, worn it as seldom as possible...
