[Magdalen] Syrian refugees

What struck me was the Prime Minister's visible emotion -- and no, I don't think he fakes it. He is his mother's son as well as his father's, and I believe he has her depth of feeling and her honesty. Like his dad, he's a sucker for children -- Pierre adored his kids while bringing them up with high standards. So that scene was not fudged. Our premier Kathleen Wynne couldn't quite manage the emotion but was gracious and hospitable.

The Canadian welcome is genuine, but I suspect we're all looking across the border at Trump and crew and thinking loud, disrespectful thoughts -- double the disrespect for _soi-disant_ Christians who seem distinctly Unclear On the Message. Canada is a LOT more secular than the U.S. of A. And we ain't chicken either.

Gloating a little. Sorrysorrysorry.
