[Magdalen] A little Christmas present

Awhile ago, I found two albums in the dollar bin of our local used record store, of the Choir of the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, Alec Wyton directing and on the organ. They were put out by (believe it or not) Word Records of Waco, Texas, in the early 60’s. One is “Once in Royal David’s City”, which has Advent, Christmas and Epiphany hymns & carols. I’ve transferred it to my computer and thence to my Dropbox, and you can access the mp3 files here:

The record is long out of print, so I feel at least ethically OK with distributing the files to you. And, if I lived in Europe, it’d be already out of copyright.

Some caveats:
- The album is quite short, just under a half hour.
- There may be some background noise which I think is inherent in the record – anyway, I couldn’t get rid of it.
- There are still a few faint clicks and such – the LP wasn’t in very good condition.
