My newish work computer (HP EliteBook 745) makes no pretense to be
"Air" anything and lacks a CD/DVD drive. I'm thinking it's a trend:
more software and music are transferred online now so the disc drive
has become an optional add-on via USB port. Like Jon, I'd have to pick
up an external drive to burn CDs.
