The main reason for the compression sock over a wound is to keep the leg
from swelling (swelling causes the healing wound to open up again). The
one's I've been getting from them is about in a 20-25 range -  a
cut-to-length tube and fairly tolerable.

I agree about the really tight ones, can't stand them. Ames-Walker has a
good selection at decent prices.
