Many states retained their anti-miscegenation laws until they were all
overturned by the Supreme Court in 1967. But there was nothing in
the Constitution about marraige at all IIRC.

Some idiot on the teevee was just displaying a copy of the Ten
Commandments,
claiming they forbade gay marriage. Short attention span? Illiterate? Just
dumb?
