We have something of the same situation, but without the time constraints. 
Like you say, if it doesn't need to happen tomorrow, it ain't gonna happen. 
So a house sits there in Mass., mostly vacant except when I go down and do 
some cleaning / sorting. There really is something to be said for having a 
date certain hanging over you.

IMHO, you really should consider hiring a moving company to do all this for 
you - assuming, of course, that you have someplace to put all the Stuff. 
First, some nice ladies will come over and put all the little stuff (like 
books) into boxes. Then some big guys will come over and load it all up onto 
a truck, take it to wherever you direct them, unload it all, and put it 
where you tell them. No muss, no fuss, no effort on your part. Hopefully you 
can pay for it out of the sale of the house. It's Really Worth It.
