Along those lines, Marion, there's an online Lenten discipline called "40 Bags in 40 Days." It doesn't have to be collaborative, though it can be, but the main idea is slow and steady. I don't know what your time frame , is, but I think the concept is a good one. I'm not faced with a move, but with an overwhelming amount of clutter, and I'm finding this idea of one bag (or giveaway box or whatever) a day helpful. Mind you, I've gotten a bit behind, but still...  ( and that's where a buddy can be helpful.)

Also, do consider the idea of getting someone to move your things, even if it's just from your house to a temporary storage unit. Your house will sell more quickly once it's cleaned out, too.
