Well, I have been a happy USAA customer for 32 years for all my insurance, and I wouldn't think of changing! In fact, when I was getting ready to choose a Medicare carrier and found out USAA was an option, I didn't even look at any of the others.

Uh, the (area?) headquarters were in Monroe, Louisiana years ago, and
they seemed to be "good citizens" to the state.

Personally, I, too, had agent issues. In a rush of paperwork completion,
we went with them for house, life (just enough and long enough to help
cover a mortgage), and auto as young newlyweds, but products advertised
never seemed to quite pan out. Then, with no claims or tickets, when I
wanted to purchase a "performance" car (a then-six-year-old 450SL that I
was buying because it was a convertible, and would pull an inboard
engine ski boat - yes, I had a trailer hitch put on it!), I was told
they would cover it only to the end of the current term at minimum state
requirements.

We've been with GEICO, piecemeal by piecemeal, since, and pleased with
rates and service. In fact, after my mother's death, by the time the
house was transferred to my name, Katrina had visited, and when I
shopped around very purposefully, State Farm (and Allstate) would not
even discuss auto OR home without having both. I guess insurers believe
in climate change even if most of our legislators deny it.

Peace,
Jo
