I just checked the "Baltimore Sun," the city's daily newspaper, and they have a lengthy article about this.

As for the bail amount, Jay, Hansen apparently only had to pay $35K up front and sign a note for the rest, agreeing to pay $1K/month.  Some kind of surety company or something is guaranteeing that balance. I don't understand all of that.

No restrictions on Cook between now and her hearing, except that she can't drive.

This story keeps getting more and more bizarre. Bail was set at 2.5 mil, because she was considered a flight risk. However, she was bailed out today by her long-time companion, a defrocked priest who was one of the "Connecticut 6" objecting to the election of Gene Robinson.
