The resultant need for word order in order to make sense makes for
another of the nightmares that exist for those learning English as a second
language.
I just read a news article that asserts the USA now has more Spanish
speakers than any country except Mexico. This is the source of tremendous
enrichment of English, but at the same time is a source of stress on the
language with such phenomena as "Spanglish".
Maybe the Spanglish will be the USA language of the future.
