A couple of years ago a woman brought me two rather large gems, one to wrap
"if I could", the other as an example of how she would like it done "if
possible>>>>>
Prayers for finding the gem.
This reminds me of the story of my ostrich egg painted in Ukrainian
style by the Easter egg group active in the Twin Cities in the early
1970's.
I bought the egg because, of course, it was beautiful, but also it was
harmonious with my Royal Crown Derby Imari pattern china (which
china I have now downloaded on my daughter for the granddaughters),
and made a very elegant centerpiece during Eastertide.
Steve Hartwell, a former Episcopal Franciscan monk and his spouse
saw the Ostrich egg one year and they were obviously strongly
attracted. Since there was at the time an active Ukrainian Easter egg
group here in NE PA, I just gave it to them and they took it back to
their home in Seattle.
I assumed I could get another done in a somewhat similar manner, but
the organization after collecting a new, unpainted egg I found, simply fell
apart, and no egg has ever replaced my original.
I didn't have the inclination to ask the Hartwells to give it back. I
think now
that Steve is enjoying the egg in a greater light and on another shore
having
passed on from liver carcinoma a couple of years ago.
