Makes sense.  There was a time when acquisition of other companies was 
flavour of the year.  The problem with that is that the top 
decision-makers can't keep tabs on, and appreciate the context of, all 
those divisions.  The business world is a place where one size does not 
fit all.

I also understand the desire to return to being a private company where 
it is possible to take the long-term view and invest in R&D rather than 
needing to keep the stock-holders happy with good quarterly results.
