I have now spoken to the hospital chaplain who has just returned home from the hospital. She will enquire re the patient n get back to me later this afternoon (it's now just 1pm. )

Nurse at the hospital says that Marilyn is waking up - which is VERY good
news.  Her husband is still making his way there- so I guess it's ok that
I'm still waiting for someone from the cathedral to respond.  I think he'll
be the one needing the most pastoral care at first.
