You could have switched on all-news WBBM 780 radio station for traffic
every 10 minutes on the eights:

"Standard delays on the outbound Eisenhower; the inbound Kennedy is
tight Hubbard's Cave to the Spaghetti Bowl..."

And the expressways are generally marked with numbers much more than
names, completing the very unhelpful traffic-report situation here.

You mean you didn't study up on the standard Eisenhower delays?
Especially the Hillside Strangler? :)
