I once attended Missouri synod church at which they allowed visitors to determine for themselves whether they were OK to receive communion. The bulletin had four statements of belief about the sacrament, and those who can accept all for were welcome to receive. Eliminated any interrogation or need to apply in advance. It's unusual in that denomination.
