Well, then it should be one more on one side than the other, since it
clearly states one rib, not a pair of ribs. And the DNA calls for a certain
number of ribs. No indication is even hinted at to suggest that the DNA was
in any way altered, so the rib count ought not to be different in
subsequent generations.
The whole A & E schtick is just a myth anyway.
