If you like stained glass, then you should visit All Saints' Dalbury - 
one of my churches near Derby in the East Midlands of England. It is a 
tiny church with a tinier congregation  but it was recorded in the 
Domesday Book prepared for William the Conqueror in the 1080's. Much 
must have changed since then, but we do have one small window which we 
boast is probably the oldest panel of stained glass in Britain and close 
to being the oldest in Europe - dated by the experts as from the late 
11th or early 12th century. It depicts St Michael.
