Wonder what brought so many Norwegians to NYC area or what kept them there? I'm 1/4 Norwegian -from the Dakota/Minnesota "stock".

Back in the Day, our old neighborhood of Bay Ridge Brooklyn had more Sons and Daughters of Norway living there than in all of Oslo.
The streets have names like Bay Ridge Avenue, Bay Ridge Parkway, Bay Ridge Terrace, Bay Ridge Place, Bay Street, Ridge Avenue, Ridge Terrace, Bay Terrace and the like.
The local wags have always claimed those old Norwegians named them that way so they'd know they were on the right street when getting home from the bar.
