[Magdalen] Listmeet follow-up

Ann Markle has just dropped me off back at my hotel after a very pleasant time with her and then over dinner with Cheryl and Tom, two friends of hers as well as the two of us.  To say that the conversation flowed freely at dinner would be an understatement. Our converse roamed over a host of topics and the names of a number of you cropped up to illustrate our varied background but also the way we relate to each other across the miles. I was asked how the fried fish I had compared with what I am used to in the UK and I had to answer honestly - my experience is that it's better in the US.  At least partly this is due to the batter not being such a thick coating over the fish.
Our first stop after meeting up was the cathedral for the noon Eucharist presided over by the bishop with a particular focus on the Charleston shootings.  The service was attended by people from other churches and religious traditions as a mark of solidarity after that tragedy. Ann shepherded me through some of the sights in Buffalo, a city I had passed through before but never visited.  A particular delight was visiting her home parish of Trinity.  I am very glad that I asked her to show me it, even if i did cause her palpitations at the way I crossed the street.  It really is a beautiful church with many attractive features.
Altogether a most enjoyable day with much to see including the Eucharist, Trinity church and some sparkling conversation.
