The whole point is that if the USA is a civilised society we  should not 
have to carry guns to prayer meetings!!
 
Once you attribute blame to people being unarmed then where do you stop in  
arming yourself. A submachine gun next, a bazooka in case Al Queda attack 
you  with a tank, an atomic 
 
Even for the gun lobby that is an asinine defence! And I am not a  bleeding 
heart liberal!!
 
Sadly criminals already have guns and I see no reason why ordinary citizens 
 cannot if they so wish arm themselves for defence. But to blame the 
victims for  not arming themselves is crass stupidity.
