[Magdalen] Bells of Saint Michaels.

I noted today on the evening news that there was considerable but
superficial coverage of church bell ringing for nine minutes today,
one minute for each victim of the Charleston Massacre.

They showed a couple of times an obvious set of classical English
peal bells, and a brief skyline view of Charleston showing a number of
classical Colonial tall steeples.

On googling change ringing in Charleston, there is reference to
the bells at Saint Michael's, and accessing this shows a long and very
colorful history of bells in that tower. The story must certainly rival
almost any similar story in Britain itself.

I love change ringing, but I wonder how well the neighbors do with it
since the bells were only re-rigged in 1993 for full peals. I know the
National Cathedral had some trouble when they started up in 1976.
