after 23 hours travelling.  The Chicago "rush" hour was every bit as bad 
as I feared - and more.  At least it gave me time to admire the city's 
skyline, and think that the people at the top at least had a view which 
is more than could be said for when I was heading South on those roads 
two weeks ago.

I had made a note of where I had parked the car at Heathrow but it still 
took a bit of finding.  (Another driver who had parked there will not be 
happy when he gets back to his car as it is a long-stay car park and the 
car alarm kept sounding.  There was only once I nearly forgot I needed 
to change into first gear to pull away from a traffic light, and only 
once I nearly turned onto the wrong side of the carriageway.

Emails are downloaded, snail mail picked up, some of which will probably 
follow the free papers into the recycling bag, unpacked and I have just 
heard the washing machine click off so I will now go and sort that.
