[Magdalen] Praying the Psalm

Thanks! There's been a delay with a theatre case that over-ran so he won't
be going in until 11.

Keith just phoned to say so far all's well, he's admitted onto the ward...a
strange little hospital which is a private wing of the world famous Groote
Schuur hospital where the first heart transplant was performed long ago. It
seems to be a bit under-used and Keith has a six bed room to himself at the
moment.

The rest of the hospital is State funded and tends like all our state
hospitals to be madly busy and utter chaos...but in both private and public
sections the medical care is really good because there are doctors and
specialists in training who are on call to look after the patients day and
night.

This morning as I left the bus stop after droppiing the boys I felt
strongly that I should go to Mom and tell her what's going on. Argued with
the feeling briefly but by now I've learned to go with the flow...she
handled it very well and wasn't even that surpised, as worrying about
Keith's health (and workload) is a normal thing for her. She's going to put
money in my account so that we can go away next weekend (there's a riding
show in a nearby town where accommodation tends to be pricey) and just to
take some of the pressure off Keith, who's had extra expenses this week
what with having to stay on in Cape Town.

So that's a great blessing and I feel relieved that she's not out of the
loop any more. A good few people at St John's know the story and it would
be so bad if someone said something and Em didn't know what they were on
about - she'll be there this morning for the Wednesday service and Bible
Study.
