For along time I have regarded ham on pancakes (crepes) with maple syrup, washed down with champagne, as the most decadent breakfast ever, some smoked gouda sounds  like the icing on top! Oh for a suitable occasion to try it!

The other day a food demonstrator in the local store gave me a mouthful 
of cracker, smoked gouda, bacon, and maple syrup.  Amzingly good!  But 
who'da thought?
