You know, if I were confronted with such obstinacy, I would take the
child to the church one Sunday before the start of a liturgy, and  quietly
but firmly baptize the child myself, using my own water supply.
 
I'll bet there would be applause from the congregation.
 
One does not need clerical orders to baptize.
 
 
 
David Strang who was present during the birth of more than one  baby
in the delivery room when the life of the child was in question.  The  
nurses
performed the baptisms.
