I'm in the midst of an interesting experience at the moment. A younger friend who lived up on the mountain had her two dogs go missing on Sunday morning--they took off after a coyote and went up toward the national park. There was a possible sighting that afternoon, but nothing since. I printed up a bunch of flees for her and took them around this morning and then went by her house with the rest. She told me she had contacted an animal psychic and was waiting to hear back about whether he could help.
That didn't surprise me. She's deeply spiritual in a non-traditional way, is a healer and a shaman as well as a brilliant PhD environmentalist.
At any rate, she just sent me the email she got back from the psychic, along with the topo map he attached and his "communication" with the dogs, who he says are still together and are all right but "moving fast."
This man is not local, but his description of where the dogs may be is uncanny--it's in the area near the hollow where we used to live. It really is a little hair-raising! At any rate, several people are up in that area now looking for the dogs.

Funny aside...I just got a call from one of the people who takes care of the dogs and happens to be a parishioner. They had been out looking and came home to my message. She said, "Did you say a PSYCHIC?" And I thought, "Oh s***! Why did I mention that??" This woman believes that that stuff is of the devil, along with Yoga and anything Eastern. I'm sure she'll give the dogs' owner a lecture the first chance she gets. And it's going to be even worse when she reads the actual email from the psychic! She'll be praying for deliverance for all of us!

Sorry this got so long. I'll let you know what happens...
