[Magdalen] Any place but

It gets worse. When the batteries drain completely, they are ruined, so it
is necessary to replace them. Chris didn't mention having to reprogram the
plane, but when a car battery is shut down, sometimes the car has to be
reprogrammed. In any case, they did get the darn thing going, but not in
time to avoid inconveniencing a whole lot of people. And when a pane is
loused up in one locale, it has a cascading effect across the country.
Chris was mentioning this to the baggage claims expert when she went to get
her baggage (which had in fact made the flight she missed), and the guy
went, "Whoa! SOME body's not working there anymore!"
I don't know about the other folks who were supposed to fly Delta that day,
but it sure ruined our day. Not that this is that big a deal, but when a
pointless screw-up causes my better half to be inconvenienced, I'm not very
sympathetic. Not. At. All. Sue me.
On the other hand, I wouldn't want to cost someone their job either. I'm
sure they didn't do it out of spite, just sheer forgetfulness. But still....
