A television add for a completely unrelated product showed what
is the Back Bay section of the USA City of Boston, MA. In the
split second this image is on the screen, I recognized an impressive
gothic church tower reminiscent of Trinity, Wall Street. It is 240'
and a real gem.
I tracked this down to Church of the Covenant - a melding of Congregational
and Presbyterian congregations and designed by Richard M Upjohn (Fils),
son and partner of his more famous father, also Richard, who designed
the famous Trinity Church, Wall Street, NYC about twenty years earlier
in 1846.
Despite the wonderful tower, the Covenant interior looks like an unfinished
barn
to an Anglican or a Roman Catholic.

In the process of locating this church, I ended up seeing a lot of
other Boston churches, and had forgotten what an impressive
group of churches that city has. Especially nice is the series of
Colonial style steeples such as that of Old North Church.
