Well, Scott, hopefully it's changed since then. Back in those days, Fond O'
Lace tried its best to distance itself from the Diocese of Milwaukee as it
possibly could. We Milwaukee people were hoi polloi and not good enough for
them....why, we'd let just *anybody& receive communion! (Not true, of
course, but that's how they acted) I was refused communion at Grace,
Sheboygan because I didn't have a letter in my hand from my priest stating
that I was a communicant in good standing.....not that they had any such
statement in their bulletin or anything. And the priest was a cold fish,
and so were most of the people. Talk about the Frozen Chosen! So I had
reasons for shaking the dust off my feet. For the rest of the time I was at
Lakeland I either didn't go, or went to a rather high Methodist church in
Sheboygan Falls where a friend was organist.
