The problem in this situation is how to disempower the Enemy.  Part of 
the strategy has to be to get the US public to acknowledge the facts, 
and there are several of them.  One is that other countries do not have 
this problem.  Another is that guns are very rarely used successfully in 
self-defence or defence of property.  They are far more likely to be 
used in cases of suicide or killing of a family member accidentally or 
deliberately.

Another fact is that there are more guns that can be reasonably 
justified in private hands in the USA.  For hunting you could use a 
shotgun and/or a rifle.  If it is claimed you need it for self-defence 
then a hand-gun is more appropriate.  What is the use of a 
semi-automatic for the ordinary citizen?  Why is there no need for 
licensing and insurance - and checks that the owner is mentally balanced?
