Normally there are conditions on the suspended sentence which would be
similar to parole conditions. So if she were required to abstain from
alcohol and drugs, only drive to work and church, or whatever, and violated
those conditions, then she would be liable to serve the additional 13
years. So it's similar to being sentenced to 20 years, then paroled after
serving 7 years.
