I do too, Susan. My friend Polly's father was a Quaker and served his time
as an orderly in a mental hospital. COs were very much discriminated
against in WWII, much more so than in Vietnam. I knew a bunch of them
during Vietnam, including one who I dated for awhile. He was a Quaker and a
Spanish major and ended up teaching in a barrio, I think, as his
alternative service. I lost track of him after we split up.
