It's always interesting on a clear day to fly from, say, Pittsburgh  to
Minneapolis and to note the change from the early patchwork pattern
of towns and boros in Pennsylvania change over literally at the  border
with Ohio into the oriented six square mile townships, with sections,  and
ranges characteristic of the Midwest USA.
